W/C 06.03.17

We have had a super busy week at nursery! The children have really enjoyed engaging in a variety of activities both in the indoor and outdoor environment. A particular interest to messy and sensory play has been evident too during free play and focused times.

In the garden, the children got suited up in there wellies and waterproofs and went hunting for muddy puddles. They found lots of squidgy, squelchy mud! Our friends extended there play using the mud kitchen and different digging tools to make mud pies.

Inside we have had a small world dinosaur area set up in the tuff tray. This activity was following on from a number of children's interests. We used natural items from the garden to create a dinosaur habitat. Sonia also made dinosaur eggs by freezing toy dinosaurs in balloons.

During this weeks group times, the green group have been enjoying dancing, the pink group have been exploring colour change with pipettes and food colouring. The red group have been getting messy looking at gloop and the yellow group have been practising fine motor skills using tweezers and scoops to pick up dry pasta.

The children have also spent lots of time printing with sponges and paint at the mark making table.
