December 2014 so far........
in the 2-3's Room
The children have been engaging in role play experiences this month, both in our indoor and outdoor environments.
Using bricks, brooms and buckets we created our very own car wash ramp. The children were keen to ride their bikes up the ramp to be washed by the other children. It seemed pricey, with the average charge being "one hundred pounds" as the children explored their own ideas of money and number.
The children have been developing their language skills and showing us their knowledge and understanding of the world through play in our role play cafe. They have been looking at menus, describing the food they can see and using pens and notepads to 'take orders' and develop their mark making skills.
Some of our children have then been preparing 'food' during our messy play activities using shaving foam and playdough to make tasty 'cakes' and 'biscuits'
As the winter nights get darker we have been wrapping up in our warm clothes to explore the garden in the dark.
Lots of the children were keen to point out the stars and the moon so Scott brought in his telescope so we could see the night sky and the moon's craters more closely.
