October has arrived, and its been a windy Autumnal week. The children have been busy in the garden this week, enjoying the leaves that have been dropping from the trees, and the large puddles left by the rain. We have continued to explore our water pump and channels, working together to transport items found in the garden. The children have demonstrated a keen interest in our tree house canopy, using there imagination to create games for example being chased by crocodiles and sharks.
Inside we have been caring for dolls in our home corner, bathing, feeding and changing. Our friends have also been exploring dry textures such as lentils, rice and conkers in the tuff tray. The children have been on regular visits to Brunel woods, using journey/ story sticks to develop story telling skills.
Trips to Brunel Woods:
We have been practising the pose we have to do when we see an unfamiliar dog. The children have been crossing there arms and standing very still! Well done.
Caring for babies:
Our home corner is now an area where the children can practice health and self-care with dolls. We have set up a feeding area, play area, sleep area and changing station. The children have enjoyed creating scenarios using there imagination, for example one friend said "my baby has done a wee, change them", "new clothes". Other children have been practising putting the babies to sleep, "my baby, sad, ssshh".

Working together at the water pump:
Children have continued to work together at the water pump and sandpit to transport items found in the garden. Great team work!
