Week Commencing 30.01.17

This week the children have enjoyed exploring play dough in the side room. They have used tools such as rolling pins, biscuit cutters and chopping boards to experiment with the dough. Some children took on the roles of cooks, pretending to make gingerbread men and pizzas. Other children used this activity as more of a sensory experience, feeling the squidgy texture of the play dough.

The children have shown a particular interest in mark making this week, accessing the craft trolley regularly. Children have continued to use cars to mark make on the art wall on a large scale. They have used crayons and pencil to mark make on paper and post it notes. Some children extended this by making paper aeroplanes, and telescopes.

Next week we are introducing some activities focused on routine and dental hygiene. We will be talking about our morning and evening routines, what happens at the dentist and even making our own tooth paste. There will be a questionnaire relating to this sent to you via email so please look out for this in your inbox!

Thank you.
