Last week of the Summer term!
This week the children have been busy with paint! They have enjoyed a variety of paint based activities which have included using sink plungers out in the garden and we have extended our junk modelling with paint also. The children loved getting messy, some choosing to use tools such as brushes and sponges and others using hands or arms to create marks.
Lynsay set up a brilliant and inviting activity inside this week to explore our senses using natural items. A variety of fruits for example lemons, limes and oranges were cut up and put on plates. A selection of herbs and spices were put into small pots, with spoons to scoop. Children were able to self select what they wanted, being encouraged to smell, taste and feel the textures.
It has been a mixed bag of weather this week going from one extreme to the other with thunder and lightening to beaming sunshine! The children have loved finding the muddy puddles to splash in.
In the garden the bats and balls and hoops have been a particular favourite. The children have been practising throwing and catching as well as hoola hooping.
For all the children that won't be attending nursery over Summer or that are heading to new schools/nurseries/settings in September we hope you have a wonderful Summer break!
