We book parents/ carers at slots of 8.30-9.30am or 1.30-2.30pm at a time when it is their child's session, at these times it shows a range of the daily routine and planned activities.
At 8.30am breakfast is given, then free play and some structured activities follow which gave parents a chance to see them have a welcome from staff and to their peers, use the bathroom and sit down for their breakfast as it always interesting to see how they behave at nursery in comparison to home. At 2pm our afternoon snack is provided so again it allowed parents and carers to see them eating at nursery and carrying our daily routines as well as playing.
Whilst here parents and carers joined in with;
- "The Caterpillars" which is our communication and language support group
- Threading paper through holes made with a hole punch
- Climbing the frames in the garden
- Spending time with a group in the Action for Children room
- Sharing stories
- Playing with play dough
- Engaging with baby role play
"It is reassuring to see him playing with other children as last time I came he didn't seem to do this"
"Its lovely to see what she is like with other children and the friends she has made"
"Its so nice to see how much more confident he is and how many friends he has"
"Its good to see what sort of things she plays with when she's at nursery"
Thank you to all of the parents who were able to come to stay and play, we hope you enjoyed it :)
Our next stay and play will now be in the Autumn term.
