This week the children have been enjoying a variety of activities including water play with jugs, junk modelling, car painting, and we have continued to explore our home corner.
Water play:
The children have been accessing our large water tray in the garden this week, using jugs, scoops and watering cans to practise scooping and pouring. This has been a popular activity, the children have had to use there turn taking skills when waiting at the water tray. Throughout the week we have extended this activity by adding glitter or bubbles to the water.
Junk Modelling:
Inside some of the children chose to explore the junk modelling activity. The children used a variety of materials such as boxes, masking tape, string, paper and glue to create objects. One of the children used strips of paper and coloured them in individually she then used glue to stick them onto her box and said this is me, mummy, daddy and my brother.
Mark making:
As part of our continuous provision there is always mark making tools available to the children. This week some of the children enjoyed using chalks in the garden to mark make, making strokes on the paper and the ground. We have also enjoying mark making with paint inside of a larger scale. The children had lots of messy fun!
Home Corner:
The children have continued to explore the home corner, acting out experiences from home focusing on using the table and chairs for meal times. We have been busy preparing food for each other, chopping fruit on the chopping board and cooking bread in the oven.
