A trip to Barton Allotments
This morning a small group of children were lucky enough to go on a trip down to the allotments in Barton with Sonia, Lottie and Kerry. As the children have taken such an interest in our garden at nursery, we thought it would be great idea to take a look at what other people grow in there gardens and share ideas.
The children did a brilliant job walking all the way their and back. Once at the allotments we were shown around the different plots. We talked about what we had been growing and planting at nursery and what different vegetables, fruits and plants we were able to see. We found a lovely pond with little tadpoles swimming around.
At 10 o clock we stopped for snack in the allotment hut, we enjoyed a refreshing drink of water and yummy banana which helped gives us lots of energy for the walk back to nursery.
We had a lovely time and would like to thank the people at the allotments for taking the time to show us around.
We were given a great idea from the allotments to make bird homes/feeders using old teapots. If you have any old teapots you would like to donate we would be very grateful so we can get started.
