W/C: 15/5/17

Over the last couple of weeks, some of our older children have shown an interest in mark making using pencils and post it notes, pretending to draw maps from their house to nursery.
To capture this interest and extend the children's learning, we invited them to explore where they live, using maps of the local area that we added to our art wall. The children really enjoyed asking their friends and the adults around where they lived and also who they lived with. Some children also spent some time using their photographs to show others which town they lived in.

This activity has been a very firm favourite this week, with many children returning back to it several times within their session.

Another favourite activity this week has involved washing windows outside. The children were offered a selection of tools such as; large brushes, paintbrushes, sponges and rollers and invited to help clean the windows.
